About the team
We contribute to the success of transport in NSW by running efficient rail services which exceed our customers’ expectations, support growth and contribute to the broader community and the economy. Work is undertaken as part of a tight-knit team, who make collaborative and independent decisions around the coordination of train recovery and re-railing operation efforts for train derailments/collisions across the Sydney
Trains network and other areas as required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Train Recovery Coordinator to become a part of our Fleet Maintenance Division within Sydney Trains based at Flemington Maintenance Centre (FMC).
The Train Recovery Coordinator will work collaboratively to coordinate train recovery, re-railing operation efforts. Working a set shift Monday to Friday and on call 24/7 this team attend breakdowns, derailments & fallen trees on track to name a few and during down time see out general maintenance.
Other priorities of the role include;
You will be a qualified Mechanical Fitter with a machining background & working knowledge of train lifting procedures. Proven ability to work without supervision, be decisive and make sound judgements in a dynamic and high pressure environment are essential. A successful applicant will have proven experience in planning, problem solving and strong analytical skills. This role will suit a flexible, adaptable, punctual, safety conscious person who has excellent communication skills. The flexibility & fatigue management skills to work an on call 24/7 roster are essential.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this position is Rail Technician 1 ($1,568.65p.w) plus super & annual leave loading
