THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Trusted advisor to business leaders on country compliance processes

  • Work collaboratively with Business Process Operations, Legal, Regional Compliance and local Commercial management to develop, implement and oversee compliance and risk management plans

  • Based in Sydney, opportunity to work with a global biopharma with a longstanding history in innovation

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will bring your entrepreneurial spirit to this role, evaluating business policy and shaping processes to ensure that business operations are compliant and optimised for efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Localise and implement global policies and or procedures to ensure alignment with current local compliance processes;

  • Aim to streamline policies and procedures and integrate compliance controls into normal business activities and procedures to help achieve continued compliance and adherence to policy;

  • Establish or maintain other compliance processes or systems to ensure tracking of actions and documentation of other control or risk management requirements is complete related to Privacy;

  • Provide feedback to global and regional teams to ensure well targeted and balanced policy development;

  • Promote Compliance Scorecard achievement through monitoring and follow up of KPIs;

  • Monitor and conduct regular self-audits of systems and processes to identify gaps, and ensure follow up with the business of required actions and documentation;

  • Support and execute effective compliance training and communication programs, including classroom-based train-the-trainer programs (e.g. new hires, new SOPs) and other country-specific training requirements (e.g. new systems, audit remediation, refresher training);

  • Provide advice and consultation to the business on relevant company policies and procedures and act as primary point of contact for consultation on regular business activities and programs;

  • Evaluate the Country’s compliance culture and infrastructure and report any significant compliance concerns or issues through the appropriate channels and making appropriate recommendations in relation to corrective actions to be taken.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree in Science, Business or similar;

  • Strong working experience in Compliance, Commercial &/or Legal, with focus on business policies and processes;

  • Knowledge of local regulations in Pharmaceutical industry (eg. Medicines Australia Code of Conduct);

  • Knowledge of and passion for ethical conduct and compliance;

  • Ability to partner with cross functional teams across multiple countries within the region; ability to influence and achieve business outcomes;

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English;

  • Strong attention to detail & analytical skills;

  • Strong decision-making ability & commercial awareness;
