Job Description

Our client is a global leader in the supply chain management of agricultural products and food ingredients with 16 product platforms across 65 countries. Servicing six commodity areas which employs hundreds of people in regional Victoria, they are the second largest producer of almonds in the world. Operating a state-of-the art processing facility, they are known for their highly talented technical and management team and a trusting staff culture.

Our client is seeking a trade qualified Maintenance Fitters for their almond processing plant equipment and machinery in Carwarp, Victoria.

Applying your knowledge and experience in the programmed and preventative maintenance of machinery, you will be committed to ensuring optimum capacity and long-term sustainability. The positions require a systematic approach towards reducing equipment down time and ensuring all work is done in accordance with manufacturers and industry standards.

Responsible for fault finding and correctly diagnosing equipment failure, this is a hands-on role where you will put your excellent troubleshooting and fast thinking abilities to good use.

Working for this high profile, leading agribusiness requires more than just a 'nine to five' attitude. They are looking for team players with strong safety records. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on company plant and machinery
  • Ensure work is performed and documented in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and company procedures
  • Fitting and assembling fabricated metal parts for equipment and machinery
  • Responsible for performing corrective maintenance ensuring fault finding and diagnoses of equipment failure is done in a timely manner to ensure minimal breakdown time
  • Forklift operation
  • Perform maintenance, installations and improvements as required
  • Responsible for recording spare
  • Record keeping
  • Maintain a culture of safety at all times

Your Skills & Experience

This role is ideally suited to someone with fitter, metal fabrication or mechanical qualifications. This is a multifaceted role that requires someone with proven experience, trade qualifications and who has held previous positions in workshops. The successful candidate will have excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skill, strong time management abilities and a high standard of communication. To be considered for the role, it's important you can address the following criteria:

  • A relevant trade or qualification - mechanical or metal fabrication (preferred)
  • Previous experience in similar role
  • Driver's licence
  • Forklift ticket (not essential)
  • Project management
  • Practical, hands on and with the capacity to improvise
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High level or written and verbal communication
  • Honest, flexible and purposeful in your tasks
