Therapy Assistant South Location

Part time fixed term contract 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE) (with opportunity of extension or permanency)

$56,504 to $57,792 per annum + super + salary packaging

About the role

Therapy Assistants deliver therapy programs with customers (individuals and groups) in a variety of environments including customers’ homes, community and educational settings, swimming pools and Ability Centre’s onsite hydrotherapy pool under the supervision of a therapist.

As a key member of the team you will be passionate about providing support to both customers and their families and other therapy staff congruent to National Disability Standards and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Our therapy services are based around a person/family-centred philosophy, in which all team members collaborate to work towards the goals identified by our customers and their families. You will actively model and support person/family-centred practices,.

Skills and experience required

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to relate to customers and their families
  • A passion for working with people with disabilities and respect for diversity, equal opportunity and inclusion
  • Current driver’s license
  • Current Basic First Aid certificate
  • Demonstrated time management through proper planning and organisation
  • Ability to travel within the Perth Metropolitan area as required
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • National Police Clearance no older than 6 months, and
  • Completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module
