The Role
Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) are looking for an EL1 Business Intelligence Manager to join a team of APS, military and contracting staff. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, have good attention to detail and able to lead a small team.

Within a dynamic and fast paced environment, the job holder will support branch execute outcomes by using their initiative and innovative experience to perform and achieve complex to very complex business intelligence work developing, monitoring, analysing and advising on budget results and business plans to deliver performance. The job holder will be accountable for managing financial and other allocated resources to meet assigned tasks, providing advice, direction, assistance and services for procurement policy, commercial, financial investigation and other requirements to support contract management outcomes. This role will also undertake performance analysis and routinely analyse governance, assurance and compliance practices, reporting conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders requiring close engagement with a range of senior leaders across the Department and more broadly with central Government Departments.

The EL1 Business Intelligence Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence to perform a subject matter expert role, demonstrate sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice and respond flexibly to changing demands, anticipate priorities and develop strategies to address requirements accordingly. The job holder will have a good understanding and be accountable for compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

  • Experience in business management skills;
  • Strong administrative, planning and/or scheduling skills.
