Subject Matter Expert - Accounting Software Reporting

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced SME in Accounting Software Reporting to join a large scale program within this Federal Government Agency.

This is a 9 month opportunity to work on a major deregulation program assisting Australian Businesses in reducing the burden of reporting. The role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra.

The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager this role work across one of the key projects to provide expertise in;
  • Business and statistical reporting practises and how they relate to Government agency reporting
  • Skills/experience in accounting software in the market (such as Xero, MYOB and Reckon) – especially taxonomies, reporting solutions and business user behaviours
  • ERP Systems (such as Oracle or SAP), shared services and statutory reporting as they relate to large business
  • Small business market segmentation
  • Data sharing practices and privacy laws

Responsibilities will include but not limited to;
  • Analysis of business and statistical survey packages, especially as it relates to Quarterly Business Indicators (QBIS), Private New Capital Expenditure and Expected Expenditure (CapEx), Economic Activity Survey (EAS) and WGEA reporting
  • Analysis of accounting software associated with providers in the market
  • Interviews, research, focus groups and use case development
  • Data mapping and data quality

About You

Applicants must be Australian Citizens at the point of applying for this role.

In addition, you must have;
  • Significant skills experience and knowledge in Business and statistical reporting practices
  • Knowledge of government agency reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting software and ERP Systems
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
