About the role

As the Maintenance Training Manager at Thiess you will be responsible for the design, monitoring of quality standards and delivery of maintenance training across Thiess.

Key responsibilities of this role will see you:

  • Manage internal projects focused on learning and development needs analysis and process improvements
  • Provide high level advice on apprentice development and standardise across Thiess’ global operations
  • Identify opportunities and assist in the implementation of strategies to improve the capability and competence of maintenance roles
  • Evaluate how well training programs meet individual learner needs
  • Evaluate training effectiveness to ensure that training meets organisational goals
  • Provide guidance and leadership to regional based training personnel
  • Identify best practice training and assessment practices across Thiess’ operations and externally and implement them across Thiess

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in training delivery and training program management
  • Experience in defining and implementing training standards in a global context
  • Experience in training course design and development, including course material development
  • Trade experience within the mining industry
  • Knowledge of current legislation that applies within the mining and training industry
  • Extensive understanding of national training packages that relate to mining

Required qualifications to support you in this role include:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • Degree in Education is desireable
  • Trade qualification, preferably in a mining environment

This role will best suit someone who can work autonomously, has an effective approach conflict resolution, can demonostrate resilience and has a flexible approach towards change.
