Position Information

The NSW Department of Education serves the community by leading the provision of world-class education. The Department protects young children by regulating preschool and long day care providers. Once children move into school, we provide them with a world-class primary and secondary education. We also work to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people. About the Role The Business Manager 2 works with the school principal and school executive and is responsible for the efficient management of the school’s business functions including administration, asset management, procurement, finance and work health and safety. The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of school budgets, including staffing budgets and the administration around casual and temporary employment contracts. The role leads and manages projects or business functions in collaboration with other school staff and additionally is required to manage the work of contractors from time to time

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education and Training policies.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake and manage financial and accounting functions including the use of computerised financial /administrative systems.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community.

Special Notes

This is an ACIP position designed to compliment our administrative team. The school employs a substantive School Administration Manager who oversees and supports the administration staff.

This is an Above Centrally Identified permanent non-teaching position established through school funds. The successful candidate’s continued appointment to this position will be subject to the continuity of this funding, the ongoing requirement for the role and the educational needs of the school. Should the funding or the requirement for the position cease, the officer will receive priority consideration for placement at an alternative location. When accepting the position the successful applicant will be indicating their acceptance of the terms and conditions attached to this appointment.
