Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, the National Capital Transactions & Investment Manager is responsible for managing the disposal process for all Woolworths Group freehold property assets to meet the capital management needs of the business and to drive the investment performance of Woolworths Group freehold and leasehold properties.

This is a key leadership role which works in partnership with Asset Management, Leasing, Property Development, Property Management, Finance, Legal and other Woolworths Group businesses.

More specifically this role will:

  • Manage the successful disposal of freehold property assets (shopping centres, office, industrial, residential and land) including management of the due diligence process, agent submissions, sale campaign, contract negotiation, handover and post completion matters for all asset disposals
  • Prepare Property Committee submissions for approval of all asset disposals
  • Manage all internal and external stakeholders involved in the disposal process
  • Develop and implement asset plans and strategies to maximise the return on the Woolworths Group freehold and leasehold property assets
  • Develop and maintain investment reports against relevant industry benchmarks
  • Manage the external valuation cycle and internal valuation requirements of the freehold property assets
  • Provide input into the annual budget and quarterly reforecast processes
  • Provide input into the development feasibilities of new shopping centres in regard to estimated end value, site subdivision and timing of sale


Who we’re looking for

Our new National Capital Transactions & Investment Manager will be a strong leader with expertise in capital transactions, investment analysis and valuations. Your background will be in property (with a focus on retail) and you will possess business planning and financial skills with the ability to identify and capitalise on opportunities that benefit the Woolworths Group.

In addition, we’re seeking someone who can demonstrate:

  • Exceptional knowledge of the property market, including an understanding of the issues of both landlords and tenants
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to develop opportunities and build strong relationships
