About the Role

Allambi Care is looking for professional & committed applicants to fill Casual Youth (ITC) and Disability Support Worker positions in our placements in the Newcastle, Hunter & Central Coast areas.

We are looking for applicants who want to be directly involved in bringing about positive outcomes for our clients in a professional, team environment.

We provide comprehensive training, mentoring and ongoing support. Remuneration is paid at level 2.1 of the SCHADS award.

We also believe that our Support Workers are the most influential people in our clients' lives.


At Allambi Care we offer 24 hour support for young people living in out of home care. The role involves providing direct care for service users in settings such as houses, schools, hospitals, community centres and emergency accommodation. As an employee of Allambi, you have the chance to make a difference in the life of a young person in care.


Daily Tasks include:

  • Following a structured routine developed specifically for the needs of the service user
  • Administering medication
  • Transporting the people in our care to and from school, day programs and appointments. (work vehicles provided)
  • Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the young person
  • Report Writing
  • Building a relationship with the young people you are caring for.

About You

To be successful in the role you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Current Working with children check (for paid employment)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID003)
  • National Police Check (this must be obtained via https://www.employmentscreeninggroup.com/au/allambi/)
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Vehicle that can transport upwards of 4 people
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance
  • Ability to work a 7 day shift work roster
  • Ability to follow protocol and individualized programs designed for the young person.
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks
  • Two work related references

The following Qualifications are desirable for this role:

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed, are undertaking, or are willing to enrol in, study of these qualifications.

  • Diploma of Community Services
  • Bachelor of Human Services
  • Bachelor qualification in a relevant field of study
