The Opportunity

The Child Activities Officer is responsible for the facilitation of child-friendly services, activities, places and programs within the Local Government area of Dubbo Regional Council. The Child Activities Officer will support partnerships with service providers, government, business, children and the community.

The position will undertake activities through a community development model and will undertake child related activities.

In this role, you will have an opportunity to:
  • Facilitate consultation with children and families
  • Prepare and deliver activities for children in the community
  • Source funding opportunities for child related activities

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Education (Early Childhood/Primary), Community Services or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and understanding of issues affecting marginalised children
  • Understanding and compliance using the Office of the Children's Guardian Child Safe Standards
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering appropriate child based activities, places and programs
  • Well-developed communication skills

You will enjoy working and communicating with diverse individuals and communities to achieve outcomes for children, families and their supporting agencies. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver services.

Salary: $69,480-$80,747 per annum plus superannuation.
