About the position

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Partnerships, the Business Development Executive will be responsible for helping acquire new sponsors and corporate hospitality partners. This full-time role demands a driven, energetic and approachable individual. An individual who has a sound understanding of the role sponsorship can play within a brand’s broader marketing strategy, an ambitious attitude and willingness to take the time to understand prospects business needs & objectives.


Partner Acquisition:

  • Support the commercial department in the development of key category ‘Acquisition Plans’
  • Utilise a consultative approach with clients to understand their objectives and be able to demonstrate how Parramatta Eels can contribute towards solving marketing & broader business challenges
  • Drive partnerships sales across the Club’s suite of assets and products with a particular focus on generating new business within the Western Sydney business network
    • Attend new business meetings
    • Discuss objectives with the aim of aligning assets of relevance to partner needs
    • Develop targeted & objective led sales proposals
    • Make presentations to prospects & support the broader commercial department with new business pitches & proposals
    • Manage the commercial inputs into the Eels Market Insights Repository
  • Champion the use of the commercial department’s CRM platform, ensuring all clients and prospects data is input in a timely manner
  • Support with game day duties, including but not limited to;
    • Engaging existing partners and/or key prospects
  • Assisting with the set-up of commercial signage
  • Assisting with the production of game day activations

About you

  • Excellent communication skills that allow you to have structured and objective-led conversations with customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and engage with key stakeholders
  • Possess strong commercial acumen and a consultative sales approach
  • A passion for new business acquisition and delivering sustainable results
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management/Marketing/Sales or similar highly regarded
  • Availability to work outside of normal working hours at weekend games and Club events which are held outside of Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
