We are currently seeking a full time Trainee Electrical Draftsperson to join our onsite Alliance Team at Tomago Aluminium Smelter in Newcastle NSW. We are looking for a motivated person with an Electrical trade background who is looking to advance their career in Engineering design work. This individual will be joining a team that has experience in the provision of electrical engineering designs for a variety of industries and business lines. Your responsibilities will include;
Be involved with the delivery of electrical specific design and drafting services that meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Meet design and drafting assignments on time and within budget.
Provide support to the electrical engineers in the team.
Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions and ask for assistance when required.
Perform electrical specific design and drafting services such as:
Identify and report changes to project scope.
Prepare engineering drawings and documentation.
Create drawings and documents in accordance with Worley checking procedures.
Electrical Trade Qualification.
Ability to undertake part time external training in an Associate Diploma in Engineering (Electrical) or an approved equivalent TAFE course.
Ability to communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the client and the Worley site team.
Hold a strong willingness to learn and develop the skills necessary to become a valuable team member.
Self-driven, self-motivated and use of initiative.
Ask the right questions to ensure that you are utilising the resources around you.
Have a “Can do attitude”.
