We have two (2) mechanical and one (1) electrical apprenticeship roles for those motivated to join the engineering team undertake a nationally recognised trade qualification.

The apprenticeship qualification combines practical experience with complementary off-the-job training with a registered training organisation.

Apprentices will work under the supervision of a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Electrician.

The Engineering Maintenance & Electrical teams perform planned and unplanned maintenance activities on SPC assets located both within and external to the SPC factory.

On the job mechanical and electrical skills-based learning activities will be undertaken on a range of machines, systems using a range of processes, tools & machines and will include:

  • Attend & assist with breakdowns, fault finding and repair equipment in a safe and diligent manner.
  • Follow all protocols and processes for removing / replacing parts or tools from the store.
  • Maintain equipment safety systems and participate in regular safety and quality walks.
  • Assisting with maintenance to a high standard on food processing plant and equipment.

The candidates most suited will have the following skills/attributes:

  • Proven mechanical or electrical aptitude
  • Strong work ethic, honesty and integrity
  • Effective communication
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Place high value on quality workmanship
  • Eager to learn and take responsibility for learning
  • Demonstrated interest in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work across day, afternoon and night shifts in peak fruit season if required.
