The role

We are looking for experienced Driver Trainers to join our Global Logistics division based in Perth and Rockingham WA. This role is essential in providing ongoing specialised training, assessment and coaching to Toll drivers. As a Driver Trainer, you have the opportunity to contribute to an Inclusive, Safe and Supportive team environment. Experience job satisfaction through mentoring and coaching drivers to enhance their skills and to achieve business outcomes.

Additionally, this position will assist with increasing service quality and meeting contractual requirements, as well as managing the health, safety and wellbeing of staff.

As the Driver Trainer, you will:

  • Conduct ongoing training to Toll staff – classroom, on the job, practical training and assessment
  • Complete group training and 1 on 1 to support Toll Group driver training initiatives
  • Undertake driver training needs analysis and develop training plans that ensure daily operation and equipment impacts are minimized
  • Ensure drivers are inducted and trained in Toll Group procedures – including safe operation of equipment
  • Ensure all mandatory training requirements are met within the business
  • Participate in the investigation of any driver incident as requested – implement and action as required


About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a similar role within the Transport/Logistics Industry.
  • Open MC License (unrestricted) and Cert IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40110).
  • The capability to competently drive and operate as required.
  • The ability to train, coach and mentor drivers.
  • Knowledge of HV Mass Management, Fatigue Management, Dangerous Goods, Load Restraint, Road Transport Rules and Regulations.
  • Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety policies and legislation.
  • Intermediate skills with MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision making and explain reasoning.
