Food Service Officer (Aged Care)

About the Role
Perform operational tasks associated with providing the highest quality service to all clients in accordance with legislation, established standards and procedures.

  • Maintain work areas to the required standards of food safety, cleanliness and state of repair in accordance with the Food Safety Legislation, Food Service Standards and Workplace Health and Safety requirements including workplace equity and anti-discrimination.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, complying with dress standards set down in Queensland Health policies.
  • Effectively communicate with and display care and consideration when dealing with patients, staff and the public ensuring all work-related information remains strictly confidential.
  • Ensure cost efficient measures are applied in the use of all materials and overheads, including minimising any breakages and wastage.
  • Actively participate as a team in the day to day food preparation activities of a food services department, including receipt and storage of goods as per the imprest systems provided, the assembly and distribution of meals and menu items and functions.
The Food Services department provides a complete dietary service to Redland Hospital, Redland Residential Care and Wynnum Health Service via on-site kitchens at each facility. In addition to patient meals, food services also provide catering for functions and operate a Café and Coffee Cart at the Redland Hospital premises for the convenience of both staff and visitors.
