Liberty Primary Steel, a member of GFG Alliance, operates integrated steelworks which include ironmaking, steel making, and rolling-mill facilities located in coastal Whyalla, approximately 400km from Adelaide.

About the role

The Purpose of the Maintenance Leader is:

  • Lead, coordinate, analyse and review the excecution and planning of all asset management
  • Implementation of engineering and maintenance standards
  • Ensure Caster asset management strategy alligns with the overall manufacturing plan
  • Provide plant and equipment availibility and reliability to meet departmental business plans
  • Manage Caster mechanical maintenance and engineering efforts and planning
  • Optinimising maintenance scheduling with operations
  • Provide strong leadership on the core values of safety and customer
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality control plans, engineering and maintenance standards
  • Build capability within your team
  • Ensure Continious improvements in area of responsibility.
About your experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capibility in manufacturing businesses
  • Minimum of Mechanical trade qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Tenacity and commitment towards achieving safety, quality and production objectives
  • Shows initiative and is self motivated
  • Ability to motivate and influence people to achieve business outcomes
  • Resourceful approach to problem solving
  • Superior analytical thinking skills.
