The Daily Telegraph is seeking a reporter who has strong news judgement and a talent for cracking great yarns. You will be a self-starter with a good contact book and a natural knack for producing engaging and snappy copy.

What’s the role?

  • Generate cracking content and have the initiative to search for stories that are not already breaking
  • Work under deadline pressure to provide clean copy in a fast-paced newsroom environment
  • Connect with existing and new readers across multiple platforms
  • Deliver unique content, drive the news agenda and engage our readers
  • The role is permanent and full-time in our Sydney newsroom which operates in a 24/7 environment requiring shift work.

Who are you?

  • Strong interview skills and news judgement
  • At least seven years’ reporting and metropolitan or regional newsroom experience
  • Experience writing quality content to tight deadlines
  • Able to produce engaging and snappy copy
  • Solid print and digital experience
  • You are a team player with excellent communication skills and knowledge of an extensive range of topics
