SLC HaSS & Human Relations

Melrose High School is seeking to fill the role of the SLC HaSS & Human Relations. The position will:
  • Lead the Melrose High HaSS Team to support staff with the ongoing implementation of future focused pedagogy and assessment and diversified learning pathways.
  • Provide positive leadership and HR support to the SLB for the whole school strategic HR, as well as; day to day staffing, new staff induction, mentoring and coaching for New Educators, panels (HDA, rating, transfer/open & TQI accreditation – provisional & H/ALT), teacher allocation for grid/timetable, playground duty roster, Affiliated Schools liaison & pre-service teachers, HR budgeting, etc.
  • Support the HR Team and act as a conduit between HR Team and the Executive Team
  • Provide positive leadership and coaching for staff in teaching, learning and social and emotional wellbeing for students.
  • As a member of the executive team, provide leadership of the school and system strategic priorities including the effective facilitation of the GROWTH Coaching & Mentoring Professional Learning Community (PLC).
  • A teaching load commensurate with skills and abilities
  • Perform other cross-school roles as directed by the Principal.
Eligibility/Other requirements: A minimum of 4 years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (or eligibility to obtain). Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
