Payroll Specialist - HRIS Project Implementation

To meet with our rising business growth and to enhance our organisational efficiencies for the team, Best Friends Group is embarking on an exciting project to transform our operating platforms and procedures.

For this reason, we are on the search for a Payroll Specialist who is available immediately to support our organisation with the configuration and implementation of a fully integrated payroll and HRIS platform.

Project scope

At this stage, the project is scheduled for delivery in June 2021.

During this initial six - month contract, you will be supported by our Project Manager, a Change Manager and several Subject Matter Experts across specialist fields within the business.

Utilising your prior experience in payroll management, you will be critical to guiding and assisting with the following project deliverables:

  • interpretation of awards to ensure the accuracy of employee wages and entitlements,
  • export of employee data to ensure accurate and complete migration of employee records,
  • assistance with the establishment of an end - to - end payroll management process within the system towards best practice,
  • co-develop with the platform provider an internal to outsource payroll operating model & workflows,
  • assistance in the migration of employee records to our outsource payroll provider,
  • data mapping, data definition and business process mapping techniques to capture and understand ‘As Is' and ‘To Be' data requirements and processes,
  • deliver data analysis over a range of data sources and formats and contribute to creating the data governance framework that the business will adhere to as part of the HRIS rollout,
  • lead various business units in their data cleansing programs to ensure best quality data is delivered on time for the HRIS rollout,
  • support the trials for data migration activities,
  • perform systems and data analysis reviews to understand the various transformation projects interactions and evaluate impacts on the HRIS project, and
  • assist with systems analysis across all aspects of general systems through to HR, Finance, CRM, Workforce Management, Risk, and Incident Management systems.

About you

As a payroll specialist, you are well regarded for your:

  • demonstrable knowledge of Awards, a real ‘go to' on understanding Awards, how they are interpreted and where they are and are not to be applied (particularly the General Retail Award),
  • expert proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite, especially Excel,
  • experience in payroll management and process improvements that aspire to be best in class,
  • knowledge and experience with the implementation of large scale HCM/Payroll implementation projects,
  • true collaborative style, someone who supports the business to achieve results within short timeframes,
  • agility and ability to grasp complex and large volumes of information quickly and adapt your approach to meet multiple demands, and
  • adept communication skills, a professional who is able to deliver and gain information purposefully.
