Research Consultant


YOUR ROLE

As a Research Consultant within our Sydney office you will be part of a team of 20+ enthusiastic marketers and researchers who are determined to bring the voice of consumers into the heart of our client’s business. Having a focus on brand and comms and through your passion for market research and consulting (particularly quantitative research), you will inspire marketers of cool, and influential companies, such as innovative banks, leading technology brands, retailers and more.
You will work as part of a team to deliver outstanding market research, insight generation and consulting projects; helping our clients to shape the future of their brands and businesses. You will be working closely with the other Research Consultants, Managers and Directors as well as Project & Method Managers across our offices.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will bring your research expertise and smarts to the table, being able to problem solve, handle client requests and manage ongoing work, particularly in the realm of brand health and comms tracking
  • With a passion in brand and comms, you will have a good understanding of the needs of the client; their challenges and expectations
  • Proactively anticipating client needs: taking a client first mentality, you’ll get to know your clients so you can anticipate their needs and proactively help them
  • Managing tracking questionnaire changes, client WIP meetings and helping guide projects from brief to supporting presentations
  • Using software such as Q, you will learn to run basic outputs and bring reports together for your clients
  • Working close with a broader team, you will work collaboratively to bring these quantitative results to life, derive meaning from the data and other sources, and working with the team to compile actionable recommendations for the client take as a next step
  • You will form part of a close-knit team that encompasses your colleagues, clients and other agency partners all striving to provide the best insight for decision making possible
  • You closely work with Senior Research Managers who will directly coach and train you
  • You will be supported in developing commercial customer contacts and in due time you will develop and maintain a customer portfolio and build account management responsibility

YOUR PROFILE

General requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (e.g. Business, Management, Marketing, Commerce, Psychology, Economics, Mathematics)
  • New to recent graduates from 0-3 years’ experience in a market research - client facing role with a strong focus on quantitative research
  • Highly numerate and a basic understanding of working with quantitative data sets
  • A basic to intermediate understanding and ability to use SPSS, Q, R or similar packages is an advantage
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Australian Residency or a valid Australian work visa
